My friend with her 3 yr old and 6 yr old and I got all the kids together to play with the bikes, and especially with our daughter Winnie's bike with the Gyrowheel we bought her.
My friend’s 6 year old daughter, has been painfully shy about biking and consistently not willing to bike without training wheels. So, her mom and dad convinced her that it was best to take the pedals off her bike. She's been tooling around on the pedal-less bike for about 6+ months. She just couldn't balance the two-wheeler without the training wheels.
Within two tries, she was riding with Gyrowheel with confidence on her own up and down the street, which included a bit of a hill. Then, after a break to play in the backyard, she didn't even realize that we'd turned the wheel off, and hopped on the bike and rode twice again (with the wheel off). She was thrilled and so confident and her mom was ecstatic!

Frustrated with training wheels. |

I got my Gyrowheel after being terribly frustrated with training wheels. My 4 year old really loves riding her bike and rides them for very long distances for her age. With training wheels it was terrible.
I loved the idea and I love the product. I did spent a lot of energy running after her, but she definitely learned to ride faster, and younger, than her older sisters.
Yesterday we rode together to her preschool for the first time, no training wheels, no Gyrowheel.
