What’s not to love? The GyroBike:
• Offers increased stability: The magic (well ok, it’s actually physics) of the GyroBike is the spinning fly wheel. It creates a force that makes balancing on the bike easier. As a rider begins to tip over, the fly wheel actually encourages the rider to turn into the fall, thus re-centering the rider’s weight over the bicycle. What’s important is that you get this effect at really slow speeds. At 2 MPH, the GyroBike is as stable as a standard bike moving at 10 MPH.
• Teaches proper bike riding technique: By automatically turning the handlebars in the direction of a fall, the GyroBike teaches the rider the correct way to handle the bike at the moment that imbalance starts to occur. This action teaches proper riding technique. Standard training wheels don’t teach; they simply keep you from falling over (most of the time).
• Decreases learning time for beginners: Because the GyroBike allows the rider to experience two-wheeled riding in a safer and more stable setting, he or she is more able to transition to unassisted riding. With the GyroBike many first-time riders have learned to ride a two-wheeled bicycle in a single afternoon.
• Provides continued safety for a lifetime: For riders who have learned to operate a two-wheeler but are not fully comfortable with doing so, the GyroBike provides a safe and fun riding experience. New riders and seasoned bikers alike rave about the added stability.
• Allows banking: Unlike training wheels, the GyroBike allows the rider to bank as he or she goes around a curve. It’s not only safe, it’s fun. And everyone likes to have a little fun while learning a new activity!
• Is safer: GyroBike removes the dangerous possibility of training wheels propelling a child into a fall as he or she attempts to turn quickly.
• Eliminates the embarrassment of training wheels: Kids and adults actually think the GyroBike looks cool. Enough said.
• Is easy to use: The fly wheel turns on and off with the flick of a switch. Badda bing, badda bang.

Why kids love it: Unlike training wheels or tricycles, the GyroBike is cool! The GyroBike provides a very real stability, but unlike training wheels or tricycles, which are shunned by children as un-cool, kids love the GyroBike. Many of our test children have left begging their parents to buy them one. And we've gotten feedback from children about many aesthetic additions to the flywheel - including sound makers, flashing lights, and colors. Check out these fun designs, and feel free to submit an inspired drawing here.

Why parents love it: "James learned the standard way - wobbling and crashing over several weeks in the spring of his 6th year several years ago. With the help of the GyroBike prototype, Amanda literally learned to ride in one afternoon at the same age. Once she got the hang of it, she never looked back or used training wheels again. My opinion is kids don't learn on training wheels, they only pretend to ride. It's still a tricycle feel, but more dangerous. They don't really learn to ride until they can "steer correctly" and balance. The beauty of the GyroBike is that it acts like an invisible hand that helps kids get the feel of the relationship of balance and steering. I really think you guys are on to something." - Peter Owens, Proud Parent
“Ashley has sensory processing problems and as a result she was never comfortable enough to ride her bike without training wheels. She is now 11, and after years of teasing from the neighborhood kids, Ashley not only rides around on a GyroBike without training wheels, she is now the envy of those kids who all squeal that they want their own ‘Frisbee wheel’ as they call it.” - Andrew and Toni Watson, Smiling Parents
Why adult riders love it: “At the ripe age of 49, I promised myself I’d learn to ride a bike before the big half century mark. I had stopped trying to ride when I was 10 after several childhood years of failed attempts on training wheels. I had no idea how an adult could go about learning to ride a bike. My wife told me about the GyroBike and I asked them if I could try a prototype. I turned the fly wheel on, strapped on my helmet, and I was almost instantly transformed into a bike rider. I spent a couple hours ramping up slowly, and by the end of the day I felt confident riding on the GyroBike. Now my kids and I go on bike rides together. - Jackson “Jack” Lovejoy, New Biker
“My parents are 67 and 73 and have always enjoyed biking together as a summer hobby. In recent years my dad’s strength has declined and he mentioned feeling wobbly on the bike, especially when biking slowly. When we first put dad on the GyroBike, he actually giggled with joy. He was thrilled to have his confidence – and balance – back. Now mom is talking about getting one for herself as well.” - Sandy Metcalf, Happy Daughter
“When my neighbor told me about his GyroBike and asked me to test it out, I was immediately skeptical. Having been riding bikes for over 20 years, I simply thought that my balance was so good that I wouldn’t even be able to feel the increased balance that the GyroBike supposedly created. So when I got on, I gave it the ultimate test: riding with no hands at a slow 2 mph, something I’ve never done on my regular bike without falling over. Lo and behold, I was able to maintain perfect balance on the bike, with no hands, while traveling at only 2 mph. I must admit that I was shocked. I don’t understand physics, but I certainly experienced it that day.” - Hans Van Hausen, Confident Rider
